The result counts how many choices match the published NPI-16 key. It can support self-reflection about which statements felt clear, uncertain, or dependent on context.
Transparent method
Every completion requires exactly 16 valid answers. Each response matching the scoring key adds one point. Missing, duplicate, unknown, or invalid answers are rejected rather than guessed or silently filled in.
Saved results include the instrument and scoring versions and are recalculated before restoration. This prevents a stored total from being displayed when it no longer matches the saved responses.
