Automated tests lock the item order and scoring behavior, but that does not create a site-level accuracy percentage. The result is a brief self-report snapshot, not a diagnosis or a complete evaluation. Independent professional review of this implementation is still pending.

Take your time; progress can resume in this browser for up to 24 hours. The HSNS page remains a separate information guide.

What's the difference between the NPI-16 and HSNS?

The NPI-16 and Hypersensitive Narcissism Scale (HSNS) come from different research traditions and use different formats and score ranges. They should not be treated as two diagnostic “types,” combined into one personality profile, or used to diagnose NPD. This site offers the NPI-16 quick form, the 60-item FFNI-SF deep assessment, and an information-only HSNS guide. The FFNI-SF is a separate tool, not an HSNS replacement score.

What does a higher raw score mean?

The NPI-16 raw score ranges from 0 to 16. Each choice identified by the published scoring key adds one point, so a larger raw score only means that more choices matched those keyed responses. This site does not convert the score into a severity band, percentile, diagnosis, or relationship prediction.

Can this test diagnose narcissistic personality disorder (NPD)?

No. A short online self-report result cannot diagnose NPD or another mental health condition. A qualified clinician considers duration, severity, context, functional impact, other possible explanations, and additional information. If a behavior or pattern is causing distress or impairment, consider speaking with a qualified mental health professional.

Both assessments, their complete reports, saved practices, and the educational pages are free. No payment, account, or email is required. The site uses advertising to support operation; advertising and analytics data practices are described in the Privacy Policy.

Question 7

Can I retake the test?

Yes. The site always uses the same fixed NPI-16 form and scoring key. Choosing “Retake the NPI-16” clears the saved result for this assessment and starts again at question 1. A repeat result is another self-report snapshot, not proof that a trait or condition changed.

Can I share my results?

The quick-result page can share the public test link or make a card locally. The link contains no answers or score; the card includes your raw score only if you select that option. Deep reports can be printed locally, and you decide where that copy goes. If you choose to discuss the result yourself, consider whether the audience and context are appropriate before sharing personal psychological information.

Will my test results be saved?

NPI-16 and FFNI-SF answers and the latest completed result for each assessment are saved separately in this browser so they can recover after a refresh. In-progress data expires after 24 hours. You can remove the saved result from the result page, start a retake, or clear browser data. The test link does not include answers or a score. Optional context and a chosen practice are saved only when you select Save, remain for up to 180 days, and have separate delete controls. Your Saved Practice page also lets you delete saved optional context.

What other data paths does the site use?

The assessment result feature uses browser localStorage. Separately, the site loads Umami analytics and Google AdSense, and the community is a read-only archive with new submissions and likes disabled. Hosting and service providers may also process network information such as IP addresses in their logs. See the Privacy Policy for purposes, retention limits, third parties, and available controls.

The test will not load. What should I do?

Refresh the page, confirm JavaScript is enabled, and try a current browser. Privacy tools or extensions can block analytics or advertising without necessarily blocking the assessment. If the assessment itself remains unavailable, contact the site and include the browser name and visible error, but do not send your answers or score.

Are the results the same for everyone?
